The mission started in 1772, this building dates from 1793.

Running through the middle of town is a beautiful river area.
You can walk down to the river and in the dry season even walk across
Walking along the river you are actually in the middle of town and can walk up to the shops

The river is a great place to enjoy a lunch hour and get away from the heat on a sunny day
Making your way along the river, you see the mission on one side and the city on the other
There is a small perfomance area that holds outdoor events
Down at the river level again, it is possible to walk either at the river level or on the walkways above for much of down town
The walkways on the mission side lead to many parks, bridges lead to the business areas
There are many small shops that line the river.

The iconic “gum wall”, this alley on main street is completely decorated with – yes, you guessed it, used chewing gum!
