Royal Peacock Opal Mine, Nevada

In the very northern part of Nevada there are Opal mines that you can pay to dig your own black opals, we tried it and did find a number of them.  This was the primary purpose for this trip.  In 2006 it was $125 per person.  This has gone up a lot since then.  Is it worth it???  Depends on how lucky you are.  I found almost nothing, but Stephanie found a number of them.
