San Jacinto Monument

This is the site that Texas won it’s independence. The monument is the tallest 570 feet column in the world.

There is a swamp on the edge of the battlefield.  The boardwalks take you to that part, but it is difficult to see how big the monument is from here.

I took several pictures to kind of give perspective.  While impressive, it is really just a bunch of rocks.
